C. Affidavits & Prayers: – Part 3C-1: In this section, I am going to give you some affidavits and prayers to help you release the people who have hurt you and help you forgive yourself; bitterness and self-bitterness has each has its own affidavit and prayer. The prayers and affidavits are from Dr. Art Mathias’ book, “Biblical Foundations of Freedom Destroying Satan’s Lies With God’s Truth.” Dr. Mathias was on Sid Roth, talking about unforgiveness’ correlation with sickness and disease. He gave his testimony of how God delivered him from an incurable disease after he repented of unforgiveness and forgave the person; this process of being set free from the bondage of bitterness and self-bitterness works – it is NEVER too late for God to deliver and heal you. You can use these prayers to stay free from bitterness and self-bitterness. If accusing spirits try to remind you of what the person did to hurt you or of a mistake you made, do not allow them to bombard your mind. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 says: “3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (biblegateway.com – NKJV).
Jesus taught us to forgive 70 x 7 = 490 times in 24 hours (Matthew 18:21-22). Jesus was not saying to forgive someone only 490, He was giving us the principle of forgiveness. The principle is that forgiveness needs to be an ingrained attitude, occurring naturally all of the time. Forgiveness should be as automatic as breathing - and just as important. The Kingdom of God is not a democracy; we don’t get to vote on how the rules are written. Colossians 3:12-13 tells us: 12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do (biblegateway.com – NKJV).
It does not matter how many times you have to pray these prayers, do it until you know that you know that you know you are set free from bitterness and self-bitterness; the Holy Spirit will let you know when you are.
May the peace of God guard your hearts and minds ALWAYS!!
