Paleo Diet Examined

I was thinking about going on the paleo diet, because of its nutritional claim. I received a free book that explained what it was, and even gave meal plans. But when I begin to read the book, the first paragraph and a half, caused me to be disturbed in my spirit man-it is like an alert went off-I know it was Holy Spirit warning me! This is what the Author of the book said; several key things really stood out as I read the paragraphs – I have put them in bold:

"Paleo is a way of life. The name and concept of the Paleo lifestyle is based on the idea of eating what our human ancestors subsisted on during the Paleolithic era. Our ancestors were hunters and gatherers who ate only what they could harvest, fish, hunt, or scavenge. Paleo followers believe that our bodies were designed to eat as these early people did, and doing so will enable us to remain healthy, muscular, and fit. 

Paleo nutritionists and many other scientists believe that evolution has not caught up with the advances of our society. By consuming the foods that sustained our ancestors..." 

After reading those lines, I was prompted by Holy Spirit, to look up three things and I have added the links to my searches for you to read yourself and let Holy Spirit speak to you:

After reading these articles, I know this is not a diet God wants me to start! First, the Bible says man is created in God's image and likeness (Genesis1:26-27); man did not come from apes - I do not believe in evolution (if you believe in evolution, you do not believe Genesis 1:26-27, which means, you do not believe God)! Second, I choose not to participate in any pagan belief's ways (evolution here but anything that does not line up with the Word of God)! Third, I know this is not what God wants me to do, because if He did, Holy Spirit would not have warned me; I could not shake that uneasiness that was in my spirit!

I am posting this on the paleo diet, so you all will know the FULL facts about it, in case you are on it or thinking about doing it. The Holy Spirit is teaching me more and more, that as a Christians, I have to be very careful in EVERYTHING I do; I am passing this knowledge on to you all. Because we as Christians, are not our own; Jesus paid for us with His precious Blood so we belong to Him – Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law and gave us freedom (Galatians3:13-14; Ephesians1:7)! 

We cannot jump on the bandwagon, that the world is on; we are in this world but not of this world – we are of God's Kingdom but the whole world belongs to the devil (John17:14-16; John15:9; 1John 5:19)! Therefore, we are to be led by Holy Spirit in EVERYTHING we do (Romans8:14; Galatians5:16-18)!

The devil is a master deceiver and he loves to mix truth with a lie; he makes things attractive to us, by throwing in less than 1% truth and the rest lies! The devil has the same tricks he had years ago; as the Bible says, “There is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes1:9); the devil tries to do us, like he did to Eve - get us confused with the Word - but God is not the Author of confusion (Genesis 3).

Like I said earlier, I was looking at the diet because the Author said it had nutritional value, but that was a trick; thank God for exposing the devil's lie!

IF we listened to Holy Spirit, we will NEVER go wrong; we only see the surface of things, but Holy Spirit knows what is going on beneath the surface! However, if we listen to the devil, we will be tricked like Eve was; the devil talked with her, she answered, and next thing you know, she disobeyed what God said by listening at what the devil said (Genesis3:1-6) – we can learn from Eve – don’t hold a conversation with the devil – rebuke him.

We must ALWAYS consult God, even in small things, and listen for Holy Spirit to speak – stop thinking inside the box because God has MANY ways to speak with you! 

I want to end this teaching with Proverbs3:5-7 and will write out Genesis1:26-27 for you also.

Proverbs3:5-7:

⁵ Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

⁶ In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

⁷ Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.

Genesis1:26-27:

²⁶ God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.

²⁷ So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.

There Is No Substitute For God! Part 2

I don’t care what, trust God only to be there for you in your time of need – He is our very present help in times of trouble (Ps. 46:1)!!! Don’t overlook God when you are going through the storm and go to man; man CANNOT help you – man CANNOT do no more for you than God allow!! When I say “man cannot help you” I am not saying don’t go to your friends to talk but I am saying don’t put all your trust in your friends; they can’t be with you all the time or they might can’t answer when you call them but God can – God is with you 24/7/365 days a year – every minute, every second, every hour of the day!! If you put all your trust in your friends and you can’t reach them when you need them, you will be disappointed and depressed!! And if they are available, that does not mean they will or is able to help you!! God is the One who touch the heart of a man so he or she can help you!!

Even if you are married, you are still an individual! Don’t depend on your husband or wife for every single thing either; they cannot make you whole from your brokenness – only God can!! Yes, you love your husband/wife and do what you are supposed to do according to the Word of God but don’t make them your god!!

I am telling you this because it can happen; it happened to me with the last guy I married – I made him my god. I was so wrapped up in him until nothing and nobody mattered; I allowed him to separate me from friends, family, and yes, even God! But that is what an abuser (sociopath, predator) does; he or she will “sweep you off your feet” (tell you a bunch of malarkey so you can get sucked in to their web) so he or she can isolate you to themselves – they will then abuse you and make sure you stay away from others because they don’t want you to tell anyone about the abuse. Sometimes, the abuse can start before the marriage so make sure you know the signs of abuse and whether or not you are dating a sociopath! In my case, I was married to a sociopath and a pathological liar; God revealed it to me.

I had made that guy my world; he was everything to me and I catered to him – as I said before, he did not work and I took care of him – I paid all the bills. Women, don’t do that! Men look at you in a demeaning way when you do and it causes them to have no respect for you, as I stated before – if they are an abuser, they will abuse you even more. I was so wrapped up into him that I was blind to the fact that he was a wolf in sheep’s clothing! Therefore, I beseech you don’t allow this to happen to you!! DON’T DO IT!!!    

(SIDENOTE: When you get married, you need to be whole so you can have a healthy relationship; otherwise, you will have problems if you enter in a marriage carrying a bunch of garbage and issues from previous relationships that are not resolved! I thank God for loving me and bringing me out of the bondage of domestic violence!! I know God has forgiven me for turning my back on Him and disobeying Him – marrying that guy when He told me not to.

Again, I could have lost my life for disobeying God as so many did in the Old Testament. I thank God that we are under grace and truth today because of Jesus paying the debt we should have paid as sinners! If we make the wrong decision, Jesus is our Advocate; He sits on the right hand of the Father making intercession for us (Rom 8:34) and don’t forget the Holy Spirit who also plays many vital parts in our lives; the Holy Spirit also makes intercession for us as I said before, He prays through us to the Father when we do not know what to pray (Rom 8:36)!

There were many opportunities in that last marriage for me to lose my life, as I stated before; I thank God for protecting me! I am telling you today, don’t have any substitutes for God; don’t let the devil make you think there are any! There are NO substitutes for God and what God can do for you!! There is NOBODY who is going to or CAN do you like Jesus; there is NOBODY who is going to or CAN comfort you and like the Holy Spirit and fill you with the peace of God! NOBODY!!! There is NOBODY who is going to or CAN pick you up and turn your life around – give you a new life but God!! God gives us chance after chance because of His love and mercy for us!! There is NOBODY that can deliver you out of bondage but God!

God gave me a message a couple of months ago titled “Shift Your Focus” (Part 1) & "Shift Your Focus" (Part 2) which talked about shifting your focus to what really is going to matter in the end; in these last and evil days, we better shift our focus to God and do not get distracted by things we can see or feel – these things are only temporary but God and EVERYTHING attached to Him is eternal!!! It is NOT worth gaining the whole world and losing your soul for the simple pleasures which last only a moment (Mark 8:36)!! The pleasures we experience in this life are only for a moment; this is what Solomon said about pleasures after he tested pleasures to see if they could give him inner fulfillment in Ecclesiastes 2:1-11:

¹I said to myself, “Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good.” But that also proved to be meaningless. ² “Laughter,” I said, “is madness. And what does pleasure accomplish?” ³ I tried cheering myself with wine, and embracing folly—my mind still guiding me with wisdom. I wanted to see what was good for people to do under the heavens during the few days of their lives. ⁴ I undertook great projects: I built houses for myself and planted vineyards. ⁵ I made gardens and parks and planted all kinds of fruit trees in them. ⁶ I made reservoirs to water groves of flourishing trees. ⁷ I bought male and female slaves and had other slaves who were born in my house. I also owned more herds and flocks than anyone in Jerusalem before me. ⁸ I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I acquired male and female singers, and a harem as well—the delights of a man’s heart. ⁹ I became greater by far than anyone in Jerusalem before me. In all this my wisdom stayed with me. ¹⁰ I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my labor, and this was the reward for all my toil. ¹¹ Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.

None of the things Solomon tested satisfied him – they did not give him inner fulfillment. Why? Because ONLY God can give us inner fulfillment; there is NO substitute for God – I cannot say that enough! God invites us into His joy and His fulfillment; He invites does who are thirsty to come to the waters (Isa. 55:1-2, 6) – come to Jesus who is the Living water and we will NEVER thirst again as He told the woman at the well!  

God promises us in Ps 37:4 that if we delight ourselves in Him, then He will give us the desires of our heart!! In order to delight ourselves in the Lord, we first must seek Him and His righteousness (Matt 6:33)! When we are not delighting ourselves in the Lord, we will try to fill that emptiness inside of us with things, people, sex, alcohol, drugs, etc. However, we are marking time and getting nowhere because NOTHING is going to give us the inner fulfillment we need but the joy of the Lord! The joy of the Lord comes when we are baptized with the Holy Spirit – we must allow the fruit of the Holy Spirit to operate through us (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control – Gal 5:22-23). We must love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind and love our neighbor as ourselves (Matt 22:37-39).

Wednesday's Words To Live By For February 15th – February 21st 2012 “Focus On God’s Majesty”

Here is your Wednesday's Words to Live By for the upcoming week:

Scripture: Colossians 3:1-4 (NKJV)

"If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died (not going to died but you are already dead-since you accepted Christ) (reference Gal. 2:20), and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory."

Galatians 2:20: "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

Praise be to God for His Word. We are crucified and raised from the dead with Christ and are no longer in bondage to sin, sickness, or any other thing. No weapon that is formed against us shall prosper. We do not have to sit idly by and accept anything that comes our way. We are dead and our lives are hidden in Christ. So, let us keep our focus on God, on things which are above, and not on things going on around us; it is a trick of the devil to get your focus off God. We, as Saints, the called of God, must be obedient to the Word of God. The Word says we are to walk by faith and not by sight. What we see is only temporary but what we cannot see is eternal. Let us keep our focus on God and not on what is happening around us. Don't Panic! God is still in control of your life. He knows exactly what is going on and He is working it out in you and through you. Don't take matters in your own hand; stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Be still and hear the still small voice of the Lord. Be still and know God is God. Be still and put ALL your trust in Him and He will bring you out.

Remember, your trials and tribulations will show you just how much you really trust God. I know, I said for years, "Oh I trust God." But God showed me I did not trust Him, I trusted in the money I was receiving every other month. But after God allowed that to cease, I HAD to trust God for real. Now, I know God is my only source and He is the One who bless me and take care of me. So, I know if He takes care of me, He will take care of you because He said no good thing will He withhold from us. I have found out that the things we think is good for us, God says it is not.

So, now, I say Lord let thy will be done in my life. I do not want anything that God does not want for me. Let God rule and reign in your life and you will not be sorry. We must forget what we want and allow God to rule and reign in our lives. Remember, the old man is dead and we must put off the old man by denying the soul what it wants.

Colossians 3:5-11 says:

5 "Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you also ONCE walked when you lived in them (you do not live that way any longer). 8 But now you must also put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have PUT OFF the OLD MAN with his deeds (these are the old man's deeds not yours), 10 and have PUT ON the NEW MAN who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him (God), 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all" (this covers EVERYONE)” (www.biblegateway.com – NKJV).

YOU must put to death these old man deeds in your new body. You saw earlier in Colossians 3:1-4 that when you are raised with Christ, you will seek things above and not things on the earth. IT'S A CHOICE! You must choose to let go of the old man and seek after things of God; "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" (Matt. 6:33). Because once you accept Christ as YOUR personal Lord and Savior, you are dead to sin (the old man is dead – the desires from your soul) and your life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). Then you will be able to appear with Christ in glory (Colossians 3:4).

Make this declaration to God TODAY! Tomorrow is not promised to YOU!
