Wednesday’s Words to Live By For February 22nd–February 28th “Nothing Shall Separate Us From God’s Love”

Here is your Wednesday's Words to Live By for the upcoming week:

Scripture: Romans 8:35-39 (www.biblegateway.com - NIV)

“35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? ³⁶ As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

³⁷ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, ³⁹ neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

What you go through does not dictate who you are and it does not mean God is not with you or that He does not love you. God is and will be forever present in your life. Psalm 46:1 lets us know that God is our refuge and strength an ever-present help in time of trouble: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” God said in Deuteronomy 31:6: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Therefore, God is there with us whether we feel His presence or not; during the good times and the bad times.

As the “Footprints” poem says God carries us during the bad times (paraphrased) – He picks us up in His loving arms and carries us through as a soldier would pick up his wounded comrade and carry him off the battlefield. God loves us sooooooo much – more than we could ever imagine.

We cannot allow what we go through to define us; God is in total control of our lives – He knows what He is doing in you. A lot of things we go through, God is getting something out of us. Therefore, we are not always going to feel that He is with us. Remember, faith is not a feeling! Faith is trusting God even when you cannot feel Him. Faith is trusting in God’s Word to know that He will do what He said He would do in our lives.

Right now, today, make that choice to not allow ANYTHING to separate YOU from God’s love. Storms in your life are going to come and go, people in your life are going to come and go but God will NEVER leave you nor forsake you. Rev. Timothy Wright let us know this in the song, “Troubles Don’t Last Always.”

No matter what you are going through, God there, and if you allow Him He will bring you through this battle, this storm, this unforgiveness, or whatever it is. There is nothing too hard for God (Genesis 18:14); just believe in Him! Give God your heart and take on His attributed.

You are going to make it! Just grab hold to God and hold on. The ride might get a little bumpy but hold on for dear life because YOUR life depends on it!

Wednesday’s Words to Live By Feb 8th–Feb 14th 2012

Here is your Wednesday's Words to Live By for the upcoming week:
 

Wait on God! Let's not get in a hurry to do anything because the Bible lets us know in Philippians 4:6: 

"In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God".

We cannot do anything on our own - without God we can do nothing but with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27).

Remember, it is God who gives us the power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18) and it is because of Him that we move, live, and have our being (Acts 17:28). Therefore, no matter how many times or how long you have prayed, or your present need, wait on the answer from God! Wait until He manifest what you need, don't go ahead of Him and provide your on way or lag behind Him; move when He move. Remember Saul? Lost his kingdom (1 Sam 13:14) because he got tired of waiting on Samuel to come and offer the burnt offering and peace offering (1 Sam 10:8). Saul was disobedient! He got tired of waiting and ran ahead of God. God might be telling YOU to wait! Therefore don't be disobedient and go try and make things happen (i.e. your ministry, business, marriage, house, vehicle, etc.). Wait on God! He has the perfect timing laid out for your life. God has ordered your steps!

Wednesday' s Words To Live By For February 1st – February 7th 2012 “God Is Preparing YOU To Receive”

God do not wait until we go through something to work it out, He works it out before we go through it. He knows what is going to happen in our lives before it happens; He made us. But before He can give us what we pray for (if it’s His will), or bring us out, He first must prepare us to receive it. So we must open up and let God prepare us to receive all our stuff. We must not be so quick to say, “The devil is holding up my stuff;” no, God is preparing you to receive. The devil does not have the power to touch nothing that belongs to you without God’s permission (if you belong to God). Remember Job, satan had to ask permission to touch him (Job 1:6-12). 

God is about timing; He will never give you anything before the right time. You might think you are ready to receive but God is saying to you today, “Wait just a little longer.” If God gives you something before time, it might destroy you or cause you to turn from Him; just wait a while longer. Trust Him and it will be alright. Be willing to wait on the Lord to give you what you need; don’t get in a hurry. A good example is Saul; he disobeyed God when he was instructed to wait on Samuel for seven days so he could offer the burnt offering for the sacrifice (1 Samuel 13:7-23). 

⁸ “Saul waited seven days, according to the set time Samuel had appointed. But Samuel had not come to Gilgal, and the people were scattering from Saul. ⁹ So Saul said, Bring me the burnt offering and the peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering [which he was forbidden to do]. ¹⁰ And just as he finished offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came! Saul went out to meet and greet him. ¹¹ Samuel said, What have you done? Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattering from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines were assembled at Michmash, ¹² I thought, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication to the Lord. So I forced myself to offer a burnt offering.” 

But Saul got in a hurry and offered the sacrifice himself and time he finished, Samuel showed up; he lost his kingdom because he could not wait (vs. 13-14):

¹³ “And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly! You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God which He commanded you; for the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever; ¹⁴ But now your kingdom shall not continue; the Lord has sought out [David] a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince and ruler over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.

Saul lost out because he did not wait on God. However, look at the ones who did wait on God and received His blessings: Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Esther, Ruth, Job, David, and the list goes on and on of people who waited on God. Therefore, let us wait on God until He makes manifest what we need; let’s not move out of sync with Him. God knows exactly what we need and when we need it; let’s not be another Saul.

Scriptures to encourage you and help you wait until God move in your life: Philippians 4:6 says: “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.” 

Isaiah 40:31 says: “But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.” 

Psalm 27:14 says: “Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.” 

1 John 5:14-15 says: “And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. 

¹⁵ And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.”
