Wednesday's Words to Live By for August 31st - September 6th 2011 "Life Is About Choices" (Part 1)

Hi Everyone,

This week the “Wednesday’s Words To Live By” Scripture is from Deuteronomy 30:19-20:

19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!

20 You can make this choice by loving the LORD your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the LORD, you will live long in the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob” (www.biblegateway.com - NLT).

Apply this week’s “Words to Live By” Scripture to your life by meditating (ponder in your heart) on it, and declaring and decreeing it until next Wednesday. By meditating on this Scripture, you will receive revelation from the Holy Spirit which will cause faith to come alive in your heart. Then and only then will you be able to stand firm on what God said in His Word.

Choosing life means loving the Lord our God; obeying Him, and committing ourselves firmly to Him. We cannot do this unless we apply, by faith, what the Word of God says to our lives.

“Father God, I thank You for giving me a choice to choose and I choose You – Life, blessings. You are the Key to my life! I believe You and stand firmly on Your Word! I make a conscious decision today to walk after the things of You; I am chasing after You today!”

Wednesday's Words to Live By for August 24th - August 30th 2011

Hi Everyone,
This week the “Wednesday’s Words to Live By” Scripture is from St. John 10:28-29:
28 “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, 29 for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand” (www.biblegateway.com – NLT).
Apply this week’s “Words to Live By” Scripture to your life by meditating (ponder in your heart) on it, and declaring and decreeing it until next Wednesday.
This is my declaration that I created from the above Scripture; you can use it or create your own – it does not matter as long as we declare and decree God’s Word over our lives every day:
“God has given me to Jesus and He is my Protector and Shepherd; no one is big or bad enough to snatch me out of His hands. I have eternal life through Jesus, that’s a guarantee and no one can change that.”
God bless you all always!

Wednesday's Words to Live By for August 17th - August 23rd 2011

Good Morning, this is a re-post of yesterday's message from Facebook:

Beginning today, I will send you every Wednesday, "Words to Live By" which is a midweek pick-me-upper. It will be a simple but powerful encouragement from the Word to help you apply the Word of God to your life. I know we get Word, Word, and more Word but do we apply the Word of God to our lives every day? Most of the time no, we do not!! That is how the enemy comes in and steal our goods but beginning today, we will begin to apply the Word of God to our lives; we will start with our "Wednesday's Words To Live By."

We will take our Wednesday's Words for that week and apply it to our lives every day until the next Tuesday, then when the next Wednesday's Words come out, we will apply it until the next one comes out and so on. This will not only cause us to apply the Word of God to our lives but it will also teach us how to meditate on the Word.

If you do not want to receive these messages every week, you can opt out by emailing me and letting me know.

God bless you'll as we embark on this journey that will take us to the next dimension in God! I don't know about you but I have had enough of living after the flesh, I want to live after the things of God; I want God's will to be done in my life. I want to be led by the Holy Spirit not by the desires of my flesh.

Jesus died, not only died but He suffered brutally and died for us to be able to live the abundant life - NEWS FLASH! We will NEVER live the abundant life outside of Him; outside of God; outside of ALLOWING Holy Spirit to have His way in our lives!!

So let's get up and do what we do so God can do what He does and stop tying God's hand. He wants to move for us but He can't because we won't open our mouths to declare His Word over our situations! It is time for us to kick the devil out of our lives and out of our affairs and the only way we are going to accomplish this is to apply the Word of God to our lives by speaking It over our lives. However, we must know the Word before we can speak it!

Again, let's get started with this Wednesday's "Words To Live By."

Scripture: John 11:4 - "But when Jesus heard about it he said, ‘Lazarus’s sickness will not end in death. No, it happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God will receive glory from this.'”

Lazarus' death was an example for us to show us that when things happen in our lives, God can turn them around for our good and for His glory. The trials, tribulations, sicknesses, problems, etc. which comes into our lives, are opportunities for God to get the glory out of our lives. God gets the glory because He will take every bad situation that comes to us and turn it around for our good. Therefore, the next time that you are faced with a bad situation, don't mumble, complain, blame God, people, etc. Look at it as an opportunity for God to get the out of your life; give Him the chance to turn that thing around for you good.

II. The Whole Armor of God – Sessions 3-8 – Parts 2A-1 to 2F

F. The Sword of the Spirit – Session 8 – Part 2F - Ephesians 6:17 says, "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. But the Belt of Truth and the Shield of Faith are also the Word. How are they different?
  • First, the sword is both a defensive and offensive weapon. You don't "put on" the sword and helmet, you "take" them.
  • The second difference is uncovered by a word study. The Greek word in Ephesians 6:17 for "word" is rhema. It refers to the spoken Word. When we put on the Belt of Truth or the Shield of Faith we put on the "logos," the entirety of Scripture. Using the sword of the Spirit requires quoting individual verses or passages as the Spirit brings them to mind when they are needed. If we hide God's Word in our hearts, as we are attacked the Holy Spirit brings to mind a specific verse or passage of Scripture that we can use to defeat the devil. The Greek word for "sword" is machaira. It means a knife or dirk, a short sword used by Roman soldiers in hand-to-hand combat. Its use required skill and practice. God's armor places the sword of truth in the scabbard hung from the belt of truth: individual verses held in the whole of His Word. The belt held the breastplate of righteousness in place. God has a plan that we can tap into to win this spiritual warfare.
In Luke 4:1-13, Jesus used specific Scriptures to defeat Satan. It is critical that we are skilled in knowing and using the Word of God. We must know how to test our thoughts and actions, comparing them to the plumb line of God's truth. We need to know which word to pull out to defeat Satan in each situation.

As we mature in Christ our sword or knowledge of His Word grows. We begin with a small dagger and hopefully grow to a large two-handed sword that will defeat every wile of the devil. We must study to show ourselves an approved workman rightly dividing the Word.

It is also important to recognize and use the gifts of the Holy Spirit listed in I Corinthians 12. Among those gifts are words of knowledge and prophecy. God desires to speak to each of us today. His spoken or rhema word has not passed away. But we must remember to test all things back to His written word.
