"Having Confidence in God"
1 John 5:14-15 says, “v14And we can be confident that He will
listen to us whenever we ask Him for anything in line with His will. v15 And if
we know He is listening when we make our requests, we know He is listening when
we make our requests, we can be sure that He will give us what we ask for”
(NLT). This scripture goes hand-in-hand with Matthew 7:7 which says,
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will
be opened to you.” (NKJV)
A lot of times, we just quote
part of the above scripture – the part about asking and we will receive. But we
forget, God is not going to go outside of His will to bless us. We get so
caught up in “asking” for what we want, sometimes we ask for things that are
definite not the will of God; then we wonder why God is not answering our
prayers. In order to get our prayers answered, we must pray the Word (will) of
God (His will is His Word) (1 John 5:14). When we pray the Word
of God, we are personalizing the scriptures. Once we personalize the scriptures
to fit our needs and begin to pray the Word, we are declaring the Word over our
lives. It is good to declare God’s Word because God said His Word will not go
out void but will accomplish everything It is set out to accomplish. (Isaiah
55:11)
In every prayer that we pray,
we should pray that God’s perfect will be done as 1 John 5:13 says. Everything
we pray is not the will of God for our lives. God has already predestined our
lives according to His will. (Ephesians 1:11). He knows the plan He has
for us; plans that are good, not evil. (Jeremiah 29:11)
You are probably saying, “But
the Bible said, He will give me the desires of my heart.” Yes, that’s true, the
Bible did say that (Psalm 37:4). But again, as I said before, God is not
going to go against His will to bless us. It clearly states in 1 John 5:14:
“…if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us…;” if is a
conditional word. If you do this, God will do that. If you ask according to
God’s will, then you will receive what God has planned for your life. And God
is not a man that He should lie neither the son of man that He should lie;
whatever He said He is going to do, that shall He do (Numbers 23:19).
Therefore, pray the Word (will) of God,
have complete confidence in God when you pray, believe that He hears you, and
that He will answer you.
“Hold Fast" Help is on the way! God sees you, He sees every
tear you are shedding and He is coming to rescue you because He loves you! You
are not alone! God is with you!
